plum68: Okay, there’s some math at the end of this. You’ve been warned. I was watching “Kiki” (recorded last night from tcm) on my lunch hour just now and my son (13) was watching with me. He said, “She (Norma Talmadge) looks kinda like you when you were younger.” He has never said I looked like anyone… He liked brunettes :)

Oh, so?: Handwriting analysis: Buster Keaton →
monocoleporter: After doing some searching (AKA asking busterness) I have found a few samples of Buster Keaton’s handwriting to analyze. I’d like to note I’m still a beginner at this, so I’m keeping my observations general. I’m not gonna say “oh, Buster ate an omelet the morning he wrote this”. I’m not that… Very facinating. Although, I wouldn’t expect Buster to be a fast...

The Waiters' Ball →
Here is a short featuring Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle and Al St. John. You’ll notice that there are two gags that were “borrowed” from The Three Keatons. The first is where Fatty and Al hit each other with the brooms and the other is when Al sticks a knife in what he thinks is Fatty’s head but is really a head of lettuce.

Buster Trivia Tuesday
bustermylove: Who did Buster originally want as his leading lady for Three Ages? a) Mary Pickford b) BeBe Daniels c) Clara Bow d) Constance Talmadge (try not to get too distracted thinking about the answer while admiring Buster’s arms) The answer is d) Constance Talmadge. Buster thought it would be funny since she appeared in Intolerance, which Three Ages is a satire of.   Constance...

Anonymous asked: (from cfcDrake) What would you think about watching Buster's movies (almost) in chronological order? While I do think that we should start it off with one of his greats (instead of Three ages or The Saphead), my idea would be to, at some point, watch them in order. Whether we watch his shorts on separate nights, watch one or two prior to the feature film, or whatever, I don’t have a...
